De naam komt waarschijnlijk van het Berberse woord \u2018amergaz\u2019, wat \u2018worst\u2019 betekent. Traditioneel worden merguez bereid met schapen- of rundvlees en op smaak gebracht met een rijk palet aan specerijen dat per regio en familie verschilt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tunesische merguez onderscheiden zich door hun overvloed aan specerijen en uitgesproken karakter. Anders dan andere varianten bevatten ze vaak harissa, de pittige rode chilipasta die de worstjes extra diepte en vuur geeft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Een ander typisch kenmerk is de toevoeging van gemalen venkelzaad, dat een subtiele anijston toevoegt die prachtig samengaat met de volle smaak van het vlees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Tips voor perfect geslaagde Tunesische merguez<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Kwaliteit van het vlees<\/strong>: Neem mager rundvlees en vet lamsvlees voor de ideale balans tussen textuur en volle smaak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Kruidenmengsel<\/strong>: Meng de specerijen grondig door het vlees zodat de smaken gelijkmatig worden verdeeld. Dit droogproces is essentieel voor stevige, mooi gevormde worstjes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Garing<\/strong>: Grill de merguez bij voorkeur op een hete barbecue.
